Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Monday July 7, 2003
strawberry jello saladWhen I first heard about this recipe on our discussion forum, I admit I was a bit skeptical. A pretzel crust? But, according to Debbie's post, it was delicious. Debbie said, Does anyone have a recipe for this jello dessert? It has a pretzel crust, then has cream cheese, and some kind of Jello with fruit in it. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? It's so good and I'm dying for it. So, I tried it over the weekend and it is very good. You'd never guess it had a pretzel crust; it almost tastes like a pecan nut crust, in fact. And it's called a salad, but we had it for dessert. Here's the recipe.

This is a really great dessert and very easy to make. My Grandmother use to make is so well. I would always ask her to make it for my birthday instead of a cake. : ) The thing I want to add is that she always put a can of crushed pineapple with the strawberries and jello. You have to drain the pineapple though. Please try it with pineapple it’s very delicious!
