Rainy Day Box
Friday July 11, 2003
When my boys were little they loved doing crafts at home. They still enjoy it, in fact, even though they are all school aged now. Marina sent in this great tip that is fun, recycles, and saves money.
I have two children ages 4 and 5, and I find that they really appreciate our "rainy-day box". Basically, I save up cereal boxes, egg cartons, sweet wrappers, etc, and then on a bad day, let the girls loose. It doesn't matter about the mess; that can be cleaned up when they go to bed, and they really use their imaginations making things. They have a great time and I don't have to spend money I don't have on expensive "craft" toys.
