Housecleaning Tips

Monday July 21, 2003
I think there are days when we all feel a bit overwhelmed with housework. Especially laundry; it seems so unending. Kendra M. sent in this email with some housecleaning tips that might help us all feel a little more organized.
A few of my cleaning tips are as follows: get the kids involved. Every evening my three small children are responsible for making sure all clothes are in hamper and all toys are in toyboxes or on shelves. They're also in charge of making their bed each morning. I also keep the laundry in an ongoing cycle. For example - towels one day, whites the next day, colors the next and so forth. This keeps the job from getting too unmanageable. Do a quick 20 minute cleanup every morning. Do all your necessary daily jobs before leaving the house. This would be dishes, take out garbage, make beds and do general straightening. By following these tips, I manage to keep up with my housework, children, church activities, etc.
