"Thought this would be a neat topic and I know I would benefit. My SECRET house cleaning tips is that I use OxyClean in my steam cleaner for carpets. No other soaps...Plain OxyClean and hot water. It gets out even the most stubborn stains (tobacco, black shoe polish etc)..between my son spilling and my husband coming in with his black, greasy boots on the beige carpet...it's quite a mess." - JPeacock

I know many people love using Oxi-Clean, but it’s improtant that you always do a test patch first. I have seen a couple of instances where it has bleached the color of certain carpets.
I have a ct with behavior problems, so I have been using Oxy-Solution Pet Stain and Odor remover. And I’ve used it on many stains with great results. But I’m finding that repeated use in one spot is fading the carpet. So use Oxi products with care.
