Save Money - Tip

Here's a recent email from Mary:
"My husband and I are both disabled and we have a 14 year old son. Since we live on a fixed income we save money wherever we can. The local thrift stores all have a "free" bin so I get things there when I can use them. This week I bought a color computer monitor for $10 at a thrift store. We stretch our food budget by going to the local food pantry once a month. Whatever I can buy secondhand I do so, or I ask friends and relatives if they want to trade things I have for things they don't need anymore. I cook from scratch and often make homemade bread and soup for dinner, or beans and rice with homemade tortillas. We switched from drinking soda to ice water and make our own coffee lattes at home with an espresso maker. I figure the espresso maker saves us at least $90 a month!"
