Laundry Help Needed: Lint on Clothes

"I used the machine to wash my black cotton/knit yoga pants with some fluffy (light colored) towels, and now my black knit pants (and other dark colored knit items) have lint on them. How can I get rid of it? I tried soaking the pants in water and dunking it a few times, but that doesn't seem to work...PLEASE HELP! - Gala
