Reader's Baking Soda Tips

Friday March 5, 2004
Debbie emailed two great baking soda tips:
  1. Do you ever run out of toothpaste? Well if you do, just take some baking soda in the palm of your hand and take your toothbrush and dip in the baking soda and brush away. May not taste so good, but it works in a jam.
  2. Does your deep fryer get greasy on the outside or even stained from grease? Make a paste of baking soda and water; rub on gently, then wipe off with clean water. Just discovered this last year when I was trying to get the grease off the deep fryer; you know the plastic outside does become grimy over years of use. Works great on the toaster, too.
