Frugal Tip: Thrift Store Shopping

Thursday May 27, 2004
Ginni emailed this money-saving tip: "This probably isn't news for stay-at-home moms like me, but I have had phenomenal success with kids' clothes at thrift stores. I know ALL of my local thrift stores and they know me! Kids grow so fast that many of the name-brand clothes at thrift stores are hardly used. Old Navy, Baby Gap, the Target and Mervyns brands. Speaking of cute! The list goes on. This takes some time and effort, but I pay a fraction (many times way less than 50%) of the original cost. My husband actually encourages me to go shopping!"
