My daughter is having a birthday party, she'll be 10. I started pricing invitations and they're pretty expensive. I bought a stack of 3x5 cards and I had some silver spray paint in the garage. I sprayed the unlined side and after it dried we decorated the painted side. We used puff paints and fancy scissors to do the borders. Then on the other side we filled out the information for the party. They turned out so adorable that we are doing the thank you cards the same way.

I am a mother of a 2 year old and find that using plastic bags that you sometimes have groceries etc. in make great small garbage bags. Also paper towel cardboard rolls make a great neat way of storing them in your drawer. I just stuff the plastic bags in the roll and pull them out as needed. Not only do you save money, but your recycling as well.

A friend of mine taught me this useful trick to use little sample size soaps, hotel soaps, leftover soap scraps, etc. Put the soap in an old nylon and tye it around faucets outside in your yard. Voila! Now you can wash your hands with soap outside after gardening, walking the dog, etc.!

Start a Friendship Bread circle. This is how it works. In 2qt. jar add 1tbls yeast, 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar,1cup milk. stir for 5 days add the above again minus the yeast stir for 5 days and add above again. Divide into 4 parts which is 1 cup to each part. Give 3 parts away to friends they then grow their starter for 10 days.At which point they will give a batch back to you. What you can do with this starter is great.Add to the starter on 10th day: 1 cup sugar,2 cups flour,1tsp salt,11/4tsp baking soda,1tsp. cinn.,3eggs,3/4oil,1tsp vanilla,(add 1cup of favorite fruit, zuchinni,carrots. (kids love cherrypie filling or pineapple) Bake at 350 for 40-50min this will make 6 small loaves or 2 large ones.You see you will have homemade bread to freeze and new loaves every 10 days. We've kept this going for 2 years now.
