- I put a layer of baking soda in the bottom of the cat litter box, then add cat litter. Helps keep the smell down. - Saunya
- I found in an old home formula book that you can use baking soda for shampoo for those of us who are sensitive to all the chemicals in the expensive shampoos. They recommended it especially for those with oily hair. I've had less scalp itch since switching to it than I have had in years!
Also I use baking soda for toothpaste; works great and has no poison label on it like anything with fluoride does!
And I use it for a deodorant it does sometimes leave white rings though. Oh and I use it for an antacid; a little in some water works well but be careful to dissolve it fully, otherwise it can be too alkaline for the stomach. - John
- I use baking soda and an old toothbrush to clean the grout in my bathroom. Works great! - Melodee
- My cousin and her toddler son stayed overnight with me in my newly acquired house and I let them sleep on my brand new queen size bed and I slept on the single. She promised her son didn't wet the bed....he did. So at midnight we were mopping it up and after doing so, I spread baking soda thickly on the affected areas and left it there for most of the next (sunny) day. I dusted it off and it had absorbed the rest of the moisture and the smell. Boy, was I pleased. - Villina
- For those who have a swimming pool and always have to buy PH increasers, look on the bottle and see what the ingredients are; it is baking soda, and it is much cheaper to buy it from the grocery store then the pool store - Lisa
