Ok, I need some ideas on how to get my kids to keep their bedrooms clean. (They don't all have their own rooms; we have 3 boys, so two of them share one room). But, I'm tired of yelling, threatening, bribing, etc, to try to get them to clean up. I don't know if I need to throw-out some of their stuff (I HATE doing that, really), but they can clean their rooms one day, and the next day it looks like it was hit by a tornado again! - Barb

We incorporated cleaning the room as part of the bedtime ritual. It seems to work well, because if the room stays dirty the boy knows he isn't going to get his bedtime story (i.e. all things in the ritual lead to the next part of the ritual.) - Thor
Go through and limit their clothes, five outfits, two pjs and undies. Go through their toys and limit those too. Go buy a large storage container for each child, throw there clothes in those and throw the toys in the dresser. My kids like this so much better and their rooms are cleaned up. Just think about it and see what you think, otherwise you will fight it until the day you die! - Jamie
