From About.com

If you are looking for fast, inexpensive desserts for your family or dinner guests, then cake mix recipes might be just what you need. Cake mixes can often be found on sale for under $1(U.S) a box, so I like to stock up on a variety of cake mix flavors. Here are some of my favorite cake mix recipes.

Cakes

  • Banana Cake Mix Cake *
This is a very moist cake and it's a great way to use those over-ripe bananas.

  • Pineapple Peach Dump Cake*
A dump cake is an easy way to make a quick dessert for your family. You put fruit on the bottom of a baking dish, "dump" the dry cake mix over the fruit, and drizzle with melted margarine.

  • Cherry Pie/Pineapple Dump Cake
This variation of a dump cake uses cherry pie filling and canned pineapple.

  • Egg Nog Pound Cake*
This easy cake is perfect for the holidays.

  • Southern Gooey Cake*
Made with yellow cake mix, cream cheese and chopped pecans, this is a rich and delicious cake your family or guests should enjoy.

  • Boston Cream Pie*
Although it's called a pie, this is actually more of a cake. This easy adaptation of the classic Boston Cream Pie is made with yellow cake mix, ready-to-serve pudding, and canned chocolate frosting.
