November 2003 (Newstream) -- News of questionable corporate conduct is nothing new these days. Neither is downsizing. That's why one Fortune 500 company's creation of a new position is raising eyebrows. Scott Tissue has selected Samantha Graziadio, a Seattle mother of two, as the newly named Chief Common Sense Officer.
Her selection ends a yearlong nationwide search by the company to personify its practical approach to business into everyday life. Zeroing in on something many companies are said to lack in their business strategy, Graziadio's role is to emphasize common sense. As CCSO, she serves as a common sense resource for the brand and shares her common sense talents with the world, starting with a new online community at www.scottcommonsense.com.
More than 20,000 people competed to become the CCSO and their thousands of common sense tips now serve as the foundation of Graziadio's platform for building a common sense community. Graziadio's winning entry was themed simply "Unravel the Frazzle." The video taped submission featured Graziado demonstrating some of her common sense tips.
