Nature's Very Best

I had my daughter in December of 1996. My husband and I always said that once we have kids I'd leave my career (administrative assistant to a CEO of 8 years) and be a stay-at-home mom. My husband was against putting them in a daycare.

After about 3 months I started to feel like I needed to do something during naps, etc. I was getting kinda bored. I couldn't keep going to the malls because I was spending entirely too much money. And being on one income was a change for us. So I started surfing the net to see what others were doing as a home business to see if I could master something and bring in some extra income.

I found so many scams, but was lucky enough not to fall for them myself. I didn't really want to do an MLM business but it was looking like that was my own option. I joined a well-known Toy Distributor and Watkins at the same time. I thought that the toys would be cool for my own kids and the Watkins was neat for me because I've been trying to master cooking. I found that with toy company there were similar toys in the stores that people were able to get cheaper so I stopped that business and with Watkins I was actually doing well. I had gotten 6 in my downline, but still wasn't selling much. I didn't want to give up because I enjoyed their stuff myself.

Later while designing my website I ran into something disturbing. As many know that to really advertise free you do webrings, link exchanges, banner exchanges and so on. Well Watkins had a policy about advertising other business and products on your webpage. With the encouragement of Cyndi at Moms Network Exchange and Dottie at Extreme Women I got my own domain, gave myself a new business name "Nature's Very Best". This way it was like me advertising on another businesses webpage which was ok. OK, no it was just Nature's Very Best featuring Watkins. I still wanted more. I felt like the Watkins wasn't enough. So I decided to do gift baskets with the Watkins.

Not ending there I posted to all the mailing lists/forums that I was on asking for ideas. I had numerous responses. Out of those responses I found 3 individuals to make up my own product line offering me wholesale pricing and private labeling. How cool. So I now have an herbal/aromatherapy product line that I feature in unique all natural gift baskets. The baskets are from the Philippines and made from twig, canvas and other all natural materials. Very neat! I still do the Watkins here and there and incorporate some of their items in the gift baskets but I focus on my own line and it is going well. It amazes me when individuals email or call and tell me how wonderful the gifts are.

I want to continue to excel in this business. I'm now working on a distributor plan for Nature's Very Best which I hope to be a hit.
