Your Frugal Tips
From our Readers: Page 8

Here are some frugal tips that other stay-at-home parents have shared with us.

From Krista:
I like to keep the kool-aid/sugar mix in the car kit for water (that does not taste like ours.) But it is TOO expensive. So I reuse the container I bought in my prefrugal days. Two packets of mix and two cups of sugar and I have saved at least $2.00 on mix, no complaining in the car, and no unexpected stops at a gas station!

From Michelle:
If you are looking for a place to hold baby bottles not in use - try using the bottom half of an egg carton. Upside down bottles fit in perfectly.

From Chellise: Since my daughter is now 8 months old - I rarely use the "burping" cloths any more. I have transfered them to the kitchen now to use on her face after oatmeal! (They're soft and washable!)

From Shawna:
Did you ever have a bowling game as a child? I discovered a way to make one. Someone gave us a tupperware ball...you know the kind with the different shaped 'blocks' that fit through holes on the outside. We use that and 10 2-litre bottles. My two-year-old doesn't mind the soda labels on the outside of the bottles but you could use it as a craft project to decorate them (if you put different colored construction paper inside, you could have different colored pins.)

From Laura:
Christmas is coming so teach your kids how to crochet. You can use their practice for the "chain" stitch as decorations on the tree especially if you use red or Christmas varigated yarn!

I want to thank everyone for their tips and hints, and please keep them coming!
