Nature's Very Best

My name is Susan Toon. I am a wife to Nick (a Ford Motor Co. Engineer) of 6 years. We have a 2 year old daughter, Kayla and another baby on the way (due June 17th).

Before having children my husband and I discussed that I would stay home with them rather than put them in a daycare. I had worked as an Administrative Assistant to 3 different CEO's since out of high school and loved to work. I mainly enjoyed knowing I was making my "own" money. To this day it's hard knowing I'm not contributing financially to the family but it'll happen soon.

I started my homebased gift basket business, Nature's Very Best in May 1998. There are several gift basket businesses out there so to compete I went "all-natural". The baskets are uniquely designed, handmade in the Philippines, made of twig, canvas and other all natural materials. I incorporate all-natural products that I get private labeled or create myself. It is so enjoyable for me to be able to work my own business, and I still have the rewards of being with my children.

Recently I added an Independent Representative Program to my business. Within a month I got 18 to join. I have been lucky to get such a great group of ladies selling my gift line. Starting the business I have the debt but I know that there will be growth and income soon.
