Usborne Books - A Home Based Business

Hi! I'm Lynne Urso, and I live in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts with my husband Jim and our three daughters Chelsea, Olivia, and Liliana. Shortly before Liliana was born, I decided that I wanted to stay home full-time, so I left my job as a financial analyst with McDonald's (yup, the hamburger folks).

We needed a second income, so I took a part-time job in the retail industry. The job provided a second income again, but I had to work nights and weekends, which meant time away from my family. There were plenty of nights when I would leave for work just as Jim was getting home.

I was introduced to Usborne Books at a friend's house in late 1996. My daughters were fighting over the books so I asked my friend where she had gotten them. She told me that she had been to an Usborne Books home show. I asked her if she could have a home show, because I HAD to get some of these books myself.

My friend had her home show, and when I saw all of the books that she got for free, I booked a show of my own. I was a little nervous, since I had never hosted any sort of home party, but when I thought of all the books I could earn, I knew that I just had to do it.

The night of my home show, the Usborne consultant called and said that she was sick and would not be able to come to my show. I thought about cancelling the show, but knew that if I did, I would probably never reschedule it. I borrowed some of her books and presented the books myself. I had over $500 in sales and earned quite a few free books, but as I was totaling orders, I was shocked at the commission that the consultant had made on my show, without even being present! It was then that I knew that I had to join this business.

I signed on as an Usborne consultant in February 1997, and in September 1997, I promoted to supervisor. I was #1 in country for personal sales in December 1997, and I was #5 in the country in total personal sales for 1998. I have consistently been among the top 20 supervisors in monthly personal sales.

My group has continued to grow, and I currently have 20 people in my downline spread across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Michigan, and Florida.

Usborne Books has given me the opportunity to earn a good income without sacrificing time with my family. I actively volunteer at our church as well as help out in our daughter's classrooms at school. Since this is MY business, I get out of it exactly what I put into it. I can work my home shows around my schedule, which means I can work as much or as little as I want.

Besides the self-confidence that I have gotten, I also have the satisfaction of knowing that I am promoting literacy and spreading the news about these great books!

You too can enjoy the success that I have with Usborne Books. I'd love to have you join my group. For more information, please send me e-mail at lynneurso@aol.com, or visit my website at http://www.usbornebks.com
