Baking Soda Cleaned My Washer

I recently washed a bathroom rug in the washing machine. Unfortunately, the entire rubber backing on the rug disintegrated in the washer, leaving a grimy, greasy mess in the tub of the washer. I tried scrubbing the mess off the tub with a sponge and water, but I had no luck removing the grime. So, I made up a paste of baking soda (I sprinkled baking soda directly on a damp sponge), rubbed lightly, and the grease and grime disappeared effortlessly! Here are the before and after pictures of my washer.
