Spicy Apple Crescents

From About.com

I make these every Christmas morning and my sons just love them. They taste like apple dumplings.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 35 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 large apples, pared
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 8 ounce package crescent dinner rolls

Preparation:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Combine sugar and cinnamon; set aside. Cut each apple into 8 wedges. Seperate dough into 8 triangles; cut each in half lengthwise creating 16 thin triangles. Wrap each triangle around an apple wedge. Arrange in a 9 inch square baking pan; drizzle with butter. Sprinkle with sugar-cinnamon mixture and add water. (The water will evaporate, mostly, during baking.) Bake for 30 to 35 minutes. Serve with cream, if desired.
