Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 10 hours
Total Time: 10 hours, 15 minutes
Ingredients:
- 2 to 3 pounds inexpensive beef steak
- 3 or 4 potatoes, cut up (add more or less, to taste)
- carrots, sliced (add as many as you like)
- 1 can beef broth or 1 envelope onion soup mix
Preparation:
While trying to find inexpensive dishes to feed our family of 6, I discovered that cheap cuts of meat can be made to taste great in the slow cooker. I use the big "family" steaks, cut into cubes, and place in the slow cooker with potatoes, carrots, and a can of beef broth or a package of onion soup, mixed with water. (You can add a cup or so of water if desired to cover meat.) The all day cooking makes meat that would be impossible to chew if cooked on the grill, tender and easy enough for my 3 year old to chew. - From Sharon
