This basic bread recipe can be baked in loaves or as cinnamon rolls.
Prep Time: 2 hours, 30 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes
Total Time: 2 hours, 55 minutes
Ingredients:
- 3 packages yeast
- 3 Tablespoons sugar
- 1 1/2 cup warm water (not too hot)
- 1 1/2 cup butter
- 1 1/2 cup sugar OR 3/4 cup honey
- 1 1/2 cup hot milk
- 9 eggs
- 12 cups of flour (half wheat if just making bread and not cinnamon rolls)
Preparation:
In a small separate bowl, mix yeast, sugar and water. In large mixing bowl, mix the butter and sugar or honey; add hot milk and mix.
Add the eggs and mix. Add about half the flour first, then add a little at a time until its to hard with the mixer. You can *mix* the rest of it in on the table while kneading.
KNEAD for 8 minutes
LET THE BREAD RISE until its doubled in size (about 2 hours)
Punch it down and LET IT RISE again
Shape it and put it in pans to bake
LET IT RISE in the pans for a short while (30 minutes)
Bake at 350*
Times vary:
Loaf of bread 15-25 minutes
Round pan of cinnamon rolls 20-40 minutes
