Chicken Cacciatore

Serve this chicken over spaghetti or angel hair pasta with a salad and garlic bread for a delicious supper.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cut up chicken or or about 6 chicken breast
  • 1 large onion sliced
  • 2 small cans of tomato paste
  • 1 cup mushrooms( fresh or canned)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine (optional)
  • 1/4 cup water or 1/2 cup water if you don't use the wine.

PREPARATION:

Place chicken pieces in the slow cooker. Place onion slices on top. Stir together the remainging ingredients and pour over chicken. Cover and cook for 7-9 hours on low or 3-4 on high. I serve over spaghetti or angel hair pasta, a salad and garlic bread. - MarshaSue
