Ingredients:
- 1 cup crisco (shortening)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla (it's important to put the vanilla in now.)
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 tablespoon hot water
- 2 1/4 cups flour (for a less flat crisp cookie add 1/4 cup more flour)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 1 large bag chocolate chips
Preparation:
Cream together shortening, sugars, eggs and vanilla with an electric mixer. Dissolve baking soda in hot water and mix alternately with 2 1/4 cups flour (for a less flat, crisp cookie add 1/4 cup more flour). Add remaining ingredients. Drop by teaspoon on cookie sheet.
Bake 350 for 10 mins. Makes about 100 cookies
