Old Henry Bars

From About.com

These crunchy, chocolate bars will be a favorite of the kids.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup white syrup (Karo)
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 1/2 (18 ounce jar) peanut butter
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 6 cups of Special K cereal
  • 12 oz butterscotch chips
  • 6oz chocolate chips

Preparation:

Mix the Karo and sugar and boil together. (Watch this.)
Add the peanut butter and vanilla to the sugar mixture just before done.
Add the cereal, mix well and put it in a greased cookie sheet. Don't over push/pack the cereal mix when putting them in the pan. It makes them hard!

Now, in a separate pan, over low/medium heat, add both chips and SLOWLY melt to a thick liquid. (Watch this because it will burn.)

When melted, drizzle over the top off the cereal mixture. - Johannah
