You and your children can have fun cutting out and decorating these tasty Christmas cookies.

Total Time: 1 hour, 12 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 cup butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon flavoring (such as vanilla or almond extract)
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cream of tarter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Preparation:
Cream together the margarine or butter, powdered sugar, egg and flavoring. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Chill. Cut into Christmas shapes with cookie cutters. Bake at 400 degrees F for 10 to 12 minutes.
Frost with Vanilla Butter Frosting and decorate with sprinkles.
You can freeze the cookies ahead of time, then take them out and frost when you need them. - Marlene
