Contact Paper to Preserve Work and Crafts

From About.com

Use contact paper to preserve your children's work, activity sheets and crafts. We use learning-at-home books to teach our son the basics. To save on making copies, we just put clear contact paper on top and can use them over and over, clean them off, and also make copies if needed. A roll costs about $6 but will save you lots and our son loves to erase and start over repeating it. - Submitted by Melissa

In response to using contact paper to cover worksheets and paintings your child makes, the regular markers, even Sharpee permanent pens, do work great. And if you have spray carb cleaner, or brake cleaner, it will remove most of the residue. Just use outside because the stuff is strong and stinks. Try different brands until you find one that you think works best. Get the regular stuff, not the non-chlorinated. Generally a terry towel in combination with the cleaner removes all pen marks. Spray a small area and wipe one area at a time before it can evaporate. - Submitted by Kim
