(Note: "Loss leaders" are advertised items sold at a loss to the store to attract customers.)
In addition to using coupons, try to buy only the "loss leader" specials (those big sales advertised in the newspaper ad). Buy lots of these items and freeze or store for the future. My nine children enjoy great meals all the time and my husband is an economist. Big families (and small) can take great advantage of trying to ONLY buy advertised major sale items. At my grocery store it seems varied enough to make that the best way to save time and money. - Submitted by Laura
