Frugal Dryer Tips

From , former About.com Guide

When I have to wash 1/2 loads of laundry, for example, 1/2 load of baby clothes or delicates, I try to wash them back to back so that I always have a full dryer load. Also I have purchased a programmable thermostat, and have probably saved $300.00 a year on my electric bill. - Submitted by Betty

I only dry my whites, towels and P.J.s in the dryer. Everything else gets hung up. I put it in the dryer for just a minute or two, then hang them to dry. Yes, the jeans can get hard. Nobody complains and I never have clothes waiting to get washed. Also each of my kids have their own basket and they put their own clothes away. - Submitted by Cheryl

To get those clothes dry faster, SPIN them twice, then toss them in the dryer. They dry faster since more water gets spun out of them. - Submitted by Mary
