Ingredients:
- 1 9-inch pie crust
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- dash of salt
- 8 cups peeled, cored, and thinly sliced apples (About 8 medium apples; Granny Smith apples work well.)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cube (1/2 cup) firm margarine
Preparation:
Mix apples with sugar,cinnamon, nutmeg and salt; turn into an unbaked pie shell. (I used a pre-made shell.)Mix flour, brown sugar and margarine until crumbly. Sprinkle over pie. Bake at 425 degrees for about 50 minutes; cover the topping during the last 10 minutes with foil. May be served warm or cooled.
