Shepherds Pie in a Frying Pan

From About.com

You can serve this shepherd's pie right out of the frying pan; this way you only have 2 pans to clean.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup beef bouillon
  • 1-2 tablespoons flour
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 small package frozen corn
  • prepared mashed potatoes (4 to 6 servings)

Preparation:

(If you have an oven proof frying pan, you can brown beef, bake and serve out of the same frying pan so you only have one pan to clean. If not, layer ingredients in a baking dish.)

Brown the ground beef and add onions when almost done.
I make a ground meat gravy in mine so you can add a little beef bouillon ( I like Bovril liquid), water and a little flour (go light with the flour a lot of the moisture cooks off).

Place a layer of either canned or frozen corn over the top of the beef mixture and place the mashed potatoes on top of everything.
Bake in a 350 F oven until bubbles.
