Name:
MOPS International
Overview:
MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers and began in 1973. MOPS International is a nonprofit, non-denominational Christian organization. MOPS groups offer support, advice and companionship to all mothers of preschoolers, including stay-at-home moms and working moms. There are over 3900 MOPS groups in the United States and groups in many countries worldwide.
Goals:
The goal of MOPS International is to meet the special needs of mothers with preschoolers. These needs are met by offering support groups where mothers with young children can meet other parents, ask questions and share parenting advice.
Local Club Activities:
Activities vary by location and can include educational meetings, crafts and discussion groups. Most groups include child care for the kids during the meetings. MOPS also offers mothers a chance to make friends with other moms in their community.
Costs:
The yearly fee varies by club location and the number of members in the group.
