These crunchy chocolate chip cookies, made with crispy rice cereal, are great for a special Valentine's Day treat or anytime.

Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups crisp rice cereal
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation:
Heat oven to 350°F.
Cream shortening, sugar, brown sugar and milk in large bowl at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended. Beat in egg and vanilla.
Add flour, baking soda and salt. Mix until blended. Stir in cereal and cereal. Drop by large teaspoonsfuls on greased baking sheet.
Bake for 9 minutes.
