Question
My daughter, who is 3 years old, all of a sudden decided that she is not going to take a bath. This has gone on for a couple weeks and it is so frustrating. She will go in, get undressed and then bolt yelling "NEVER!". Any ideas for making bath time more fun? - Wendy

Answer
My son went through a couple of weeks when he didn't want to take a bath so I started giving him showers. He didn't like the showers at first but now he does. Plus, he know sees taking a bath as a special treat. A couple of nights ago he took a shower and I plugged the tub so he was taking a shower and a bath at the same time, I thought that he was going to cry he was so excited and having so much fun. - Leah

Soap crayons are fun. Also, Crayola makes tub tints. She could pick out what color of water she wants. - Leighanne

Perhaps she's afraid of going down the drain. Some kids have that fear. If so, maybe ensuring that you take her out of the tub before the water drains would help, or showing her that even some of her small toys don't go down the drain. - Curious

I do remember the NO BATH! stage. It was a heartache.
I used to keep a few bottles of bubbles around the place - you know the ones with the wand? My son loved playing with bubbles, but I told him only in the bath. Soon enough, he outgrew his no bath stage. - AtmMom
