Clothes Horse

From About.com

A few years ago our dryer broke down, so rather than spending money we didn't have repairing it, I bought two clothes horses. And then with each child that joined our family I added another one! I now have four clothes horses and in winter I dry most of my clothes on them over a heater duct, in front of a warm sunny window. Within 24 hours the clothes are all dry.

We have since replaced our dryer with a new one and I sort the laundry so that underwear and dryer-friendly clothes go in one load and the rest of the clothes dry over the heater. I also save time and money on ironing. It is a task I don't enjoy, so when we take clothes off the line outside we fold them as we go. Shorts, T-shirts and jeans all go straight into drawers. I only iron business shirts and dresses now. - Submitted by Tracy
